Well - there's just a few of us left on this old platform. We've been along for this journey for many years! I started FOL way back in 1995 and so we're looking at almost 30 years! It's been quite a ride and I probably should've done this change years ago, but I am rather nostalgic - I guess
Unfortunately, I have not been able to update any software on this system for over a decade and with the changes coming with email security, email is not working like it should.
So, it's time to make a change. Here's what I am doing. I had several other domains here that were used for our ministry at the Center for Church Renewal that I have now moved to another email provider. The only domain left is foln.org. Don't worry, I'm not going to switch it off immediately but I wanted to give you another heads up to let you know it's coming soon. If this is a old email you don't really need any more than I understand. That's what happened to most everybody. However if you still use and need this email account, even a little, then I'm more than happy to keep an account for you to continue receiving email. Just let me know. I will let you know all the details. You will just need to set up your normal email application on your computer and/or phone.
My goal is to not turn FOL off until something breaks - like a power supply failing or a hard drive crash. If this happens, then I am not planning to do anything more heroic then a reboot to get it working again. So, till that time, if you want, you will still be able to login, you just wont be able to send or receive any more email. Some of you may have big email archives. I sure do.
So if there's anything in FOL you need - I strongly suggest that you login and save/backup any emails or other stuff on here that you want to keep.
Just let me know if you want to still use your @foln.org address. If you do, I will then send you the information on how to set up your new email client that's built into your Mac/PC/phone and then when that time comes, I will flip a few switches and all new email will come to your new email client. Or I can simply permanently forward all incoming mail to any address you want.

I'd like to thank Josh Williams for the custom graphics, icons and T-shirts that were made. One of my favorite memories is when they gave these T-shirts to the entire FBCN staff and they wore them one day as a surprise to me.
But mostly of all I want to thank 2 people. First my patient wife who put up with the serious amount of time and countless late nights managing this beast in the early days and genius Tom Parsoneault who was the real brains about getting a firewall built and fixing things when they broke. He volunteered for all these years! Because of Tom we had very little down time and never got hacked! Thanks Tom!!
It's been fun. Mostly. Many stories and life have passed through this system.
